Phuong-Dan is a DJ based in Hamburg, Germany. For almost two decades he is both resident and host at legendary St. Pauli underground venue Golden Pudel Club.

Such is the case with Phuong-Dan: a fearless selector whose ability to lead intense expeditions into the outer realms of the sonic sphere have made his sets – and his long-running Gatto Musculoso club night – something any dancefloor is lucky to experience.“ Dekmantel Festival Phuong-Dans’ sets are a hypnotizing and compelling blend of rhythms and influences – consistently exploring varying moods by shifting back and forth between musical fields with some sort of defiant approach. He combines gigs all over the world with project specific works and musical programming. A good example of the latter are the Gatto Musculoso nights he hosts at Golden Pudel Club in Hamburg since 2006, which through the years have seen artists of every shape and size. Guests at Gatto Musculoso were among others Italian pioneer Beppe Loda, Veronica Vasicka, Daniel Wang, Vladimir Ivkovic, Tolouse Low Trax, Anika, Lovefingers, Alexis Le-Tan, Vidal Benjamin, Sean Canty or Lena Willikens. Phuong-Dan is a regularly guest at Düsseldorf’s Salon des Amateurs, he played noted clubs like Robert Johnson in Offenbach, De School in Amsterdam, Ankali in Prague or 20/44 in Belgrade – but also in art spaces like c/o Berlin, Haus der Kunst Munich, Kunsthalle Vienna, or at festivals like Intonal, Dekmantel, Positive Education, DT Camp, Berlin Atonal, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Foreign Affairs Festival Berlin or European Media Art Festival Osnabrück. He had supporting slots at concerts of artists like Asmus Tietchens, Dieter Moebius (of Cluster fame), Kreidler, Felix Kubin, Aksak Maboul, Jaki Liebezeit and many more. In 2021 he initiated dispari – a label and platform for all kinds of auditory publications, collaborations and performances at various places such as Kunstverein München, Kunsthalle Münster and Meakusma Festival. Phuong-Dan has produced a whole bunch of podcasts for Noiseinmyhead, Lovefingers, Red Light Radio, L.I.E.S. Records, Dekmantel Festival, Sound Metaphors, NTS, Kiosk Radio….
